Advent Wireless Speakers

Advent wireless speakers break the record on the transmitting range. They can run up to 300 feet off the transmitter, and the sound is still rich and free of cracks. Read on for more.

You can find Advent wireless speakers in four packages:

  1. Advent ADVW801 - outdoor wireless speaker
  2. Advent AW810 1.0 - indoor-outdoor speaker
  3. Advent AW820 - wireless stereo system with two speaker-cabinets
  4. Advent AW870 - wireless powered speakers

The first two are for outdoor use, and they came under our attention in the wireless outdoor speakers section. The other two we describe below.

The Advent AW820 Wireless Stereo Speakers

This system is made of two separate wireless speakers (the speaker cabinets enclose a 4" woofer and a 1" tweeter each). The speakers can run on batteries, but these are not included.

Here's what the manufacturer says:

  • the speakers develop 10 watts of power per channel;
  • the effective transmission range is up to 300 feet;
  • 30 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response;
  • speakers can run on batteries (not included) or on AC power (adapter included);
  • price tag: $230.

The Advent AW870 Wireless Powered Speakers

This system from Advent is even more powerful, with two loudspeakers housing a 15 watts amplifier each. You can listen to both mono and stereo recorded materials, using the mono switch.

If you want to carry them outdoors by the pool, you can do that using eight "C" cell batteries, which are not provided. But be sure to keep the speakers away from water splashes.
