Well, the answer is read on to find out: the fancy design, the one box stereo sound, the built-in Mega Bass feature, the included AC adapter and Ni-CD rechargeable battery and probably a lot more.
But if you really want something to rock your house, you may want to trade the Hi-Fi design for a better performing unit.
First of all, the stereo sound is powered by a woofer/tweeter combination which delivers only four watts high sound quality - the lowest in its branch. The manufacturer says 150 feet transmission range, but many users complain that you can hear cracks and pops at only 35 feet distance between the transmitter and the receiver.
About the SRS-RF90RK we discuss here, there has also been said "feeble sound", non-existent bass, and when ordered on-line, sometimes it ships without the transmitter, Amazon customers complain. About this last part, our guess is that you have to pay attention when ordering, because Sony also sells a compatible Sony SRS-RF90 speaker which does not include a transmitter as it will be used with the transmitter from SRS-RF90RK, for creating a two-speaker stereo system.
But be sure this unit has its bright sides too. For instance, it may not work for a large living room, but for a small bedroom it is OK and looks very appealing. The SRS-RF90RK is easy to set-up, and the only one in the - yet modest - wireless speakers family that comes with its own, built in rechargeable batteries.
At your option, Sony wireless speakers are also able to create a bit of mood in the room, with the use of a cool blue light that passes invisibly through the curved plexiglas and, visibly, out its edges.
The up-sides
- Easy set-up;
- Ni-CD rechargeable batteries included;
- Nice, appealing design.
The down-sides
- Poor transmission range;
- With only 4 watts of power, among the weakest models;
- Very poor bass.
